Weavings by Shelley Tucker
Awesome resource for doing art and poetry work and therapy with kids grades
K-2. Shelley is the founder of the "Write From the Source" series
in Seattle, and she's had a lifetime of experience of doing art and poetry
with kids. You most definitely are going to learn something here!

to newbies. While you will also find some amazing works here, you will
also be benefitting the Children's Home Society in Florida. How can you
pass up poetry with a purpose?
Poems
Here at Home by James Whitcomb Riley
While this particular edition is a special release, rather expensive hardback
release, it is the best of Riley's work from 1893! There is a resurrgence
on interest in his works, some new re-releases and anthology collections
coming soon, but this is the original's original!
Poetry discovers and speaks a truth ordinary language cannot express.
Poet-teacher Fox reveals how imagery, sound, methaphor, rhythm and other
poetic elements can help us tell our inner story, heal psychological wounds,
discover spiritual connection, and develop the rich creative imagination
that lies within us all.
Powerful and exciting, Poetic Medicines illustrates the unique role that
poem-making can have in addressing the situations that lead us to renewal
in our lives. This book is a MUST HAVE for anyone doing any sort of greif
and healing work thru Poetry. If you are even remotely interested in Poetry
Therapy, the discipline and application of it, then you have to read this
book.
These two suggested readings come to you simply
because I've recently read these books and because there were excerpts
from each that affected/effected me and changes in me and in my poetry.
One is the book The
Red Tent by Anita Diamant and the other is Outlander
by Diana Gabaldon. They are fiction works, not poetry.
