Priscilla Long is the author
of Where the Sun Never Shines:
a History of America’s
Bloody Coal Industry (Paragon
House, 1989). Her work “Archeology
of Childhood” won
The Journal’s Creative
Nonfiction Prize for 2001.
Her poetry, fiction, and
creative nonfiction appear
in numerous publications
such as The Southern Review,
North Dakota Quarterly,
The Seattle Review, and
Passages North. She has
awards from the Seattle
Arts Commission and the
Los Angeles Arts Commission,
among others. She holds
an M.F. A. from the University
of Washington, teaches writing
at UW Extension and privately,
and serves as senior editor
of the pioneering online
history encyclopedia, www.historylink.org.
M. Anne Sweet is a performance
poet , artist, and photographer.
She is the winner of this
years Bart Baxter Poetry
in Performance award from
the Washington Poets Association
and she received the Purchase
Award in 2003 for her City
of SeaTac Photo exhibit.
The re-launch of her poetry
collection Nailed to the
Sky is due out from Gazoobit
Tales Publishing. Her poetry
has been published in: Crab
Creek Review, The Raven
Chronicles, Pontoon #3 and
#5,The Comstock Review,
PoetsWest Literary Journal,
Main Street Rag Poetry Journal,
The Horsethief’s Journal,
Switched-on Gutenberg, etc.
Paul Nelson is a broadcast
interview host and founder
of It Plays in Peoria Productions,
and co founder of Auburn
Washinton’s SPLAB!-
The Northwest Spokenword
LAB. He has 23 years experience
as a broadcaster who was
heard on NPR’s KPLU
and now syndicates his radio
program through KING FM
and 12 other Northwest stations.
He conducts poetry readings
and workshops in Auburn
10 months out of the year.
He has recently finished
the manuscript of an epic
poem that includes the history
of Auburn entitled: A Time
Before Slaughter.
Christopher J. Jarmick
is the author of the critically
acclaimed suspense thriller
The Glass Cocoon (with Serena
Holder) and the President
of PEN- Washington, the
Northwest chapter of the
global organization of 15,000
writers founded in 1921.He
has produced and written
TV programs. PBS documentaries,
and contributed to a few
films. His 30 part narrative
poem series: The Red House
Tavern Tales is being published
serial style by BRUTARIAN
Magazine out of Washington
D.C. His poetry, short stories,
essays, interviews, reviews
and articles have been published
in TABLET, Seattle Times,
South District Journal,
Senses of Cinema, Cult Cuts
