Staring inside out
gazing at each other,
wide brimmed self
atop this decadent
hairstyle of
pink and blue,
gossip in through
the lobes beneath me,
tea steeps 3-4 minutes
before milk is added.
Colors radiate–
biscuits of red and yellow
stockings of purple and green
smells of lilac and cinnamon
through the hole on the side
as a breeze sweeps through
almost deporting me
into premature flight,
ties hang loose on
either shoulder.
Sun shimmers above;
I shelter below
nose shaded curls up when
she laughs,
snooty when she talks,
loud when she sleeps.
