Saw a listing in the
last PS Newsletter here
in Seattle that mentioned
a "grief" bookstore called
Four Seasons Oasis. Couldn't
believe my eyes! So I tracked
down one of the partners
and exchanged emails. Turns
out that they are not only
a bookstore, but an entire
resource center to "rest
in one's grief" as their
mission states. I almost
fell off my chair!!! Here's
more info and if you find
yourself in downtown Seattle,
check them out!!!

Mission stated on their
site:
As a culture we allow
so little time to experience
the inevitable and life
changing effects of loss
and grief. We strive to
make sense of a new life;
one in which we must integrate
the death of a loved one,
the response to a disaster,
divorce or the effects
of an illness. There seems
to be few places to rest
in one's grief. In response
to this need, Four Seasons
Oasis was created. We provide
a retail service that offers
over 700 adult and children
book titles, over 350 card
designs, hospital gift
baskets, pet loss support
and other appropriate gifts.
We also render professional
services such as counseling
and bodywork in a suite
above the retail shop.
Our commitment is to provide
a comforting, kind and
restful environment that
allows the presence of
grief while offering helpful
resources.
